Calculator / Tax
Estimate your tax refund. See what drives it.
A private illustration using your actual withholding and a limited federal and provincial income-tax model.
Tax refund estimator
Start with your actual tax deducted.
A simplified employment-income illustration. Have all your T4s ready: add Box 14 for income and Box 22 for income tax deducted. Without actual withholding, a refund cannot be estimated meaningfully.
Your result will appear here. Editing a field clears the previous estimate.
What this estimate includes
Federal and supported provincial or territorial marginal rates, basic personal amounts, the Canada employment amount, selected provincial adjustments, and an optional RRSP deduction.
What you’ll need
Your employment income and income tax deducted, usually found in boxes 14 and 22 of your T4. Add RRSP contributions only if you expect to claim them.
A deliberately focused estimate
This release supports every province and territory except Quebec. It does not yet calculate CPP or EI overpayments, spouse or dependant amounts, disability credits, tuition, investment income, self-employment, or specialized provincial credits.
